Our Story
A journey spanning three generations, from humble beginnings in the Gamtoos Valley to becoming one of South Africa's most respected farming families.
The Foundation
Stephanus Cornelius Rautenbach and his wife, Catharina Maria Rautenbach, arrived on a farm called Patentie 3 in the Gamtoos Valley. By 1958, the farm officially opened its doors for business, employing its first five staff members.
The Citrus Powerhouse
Gert Rautenbach took the reins and transformed the farm into one of Patensie's citrus powerhouses. His leadership extended to serving on the National Citrus Board, contributing to South Africa's global citrus strategy.
New Generation Leadership
Gert Hendrik Rautenbach (Jnr), 'Gerik', joined as farm manager. With his mechanical expertise and vegetable production knowledge, he steered the business to profitability during difficult citrus market cycles.
Expansion & Vision
After Gert Rautenbach (Snr) passed away in 2000, Gerik (Sr) took over as farm director and gradually expanded the farm's vegetable operation with renewed focus and vision.
Bold Transformation
The family made a bold decision to shift focus entirely from citrus to vegetables and livestock. By 2020, they acquired 'Wheatlands', which now serves as the base for vegetable production.
Trading Division Launch
Gerik — the youngest in the line — launched a trading division to bring fresh, honest produce directly to households and businesses, creating transparent farm-to-fork connections.
Our Vision Today
We bridge the gap between farm and fork, market and home. Our mission is to deliver freshness with purpose, connecting South Africa's finest vegetables and meats directly to your table — with integrity, traceability, and the legacy of three generations behind every product.
